Hippie Culture in Goa
Goa has always been linked with the hippie culture that spread through the US and other countries in the 60s. Though the movement has faded away in most parts of the world, the hippie culture is still alive and kicking in some pockets in Goa. Perhaps this has a lot to the with the state’s own susegad (relaxed) culture. Hippies in Goa are mainly situated in north Goa, near the beaches of Morjim, Arambol Anjuna and Ashvem.
Flea Markets is the best place to get all your holiday souvenirs and gifts! It was the hippies who brought about the trend of the flea market. Even if you're not interested in buying anything flea markets are still a nice place to spend 1 or 2 hours!
